i have my reasons why i´m NOT at facebook or twitter. and if you pin my work on pinterest, please make sure to link it back to me by taking the button on my side: that will bring you to my board with all my art-links. thanks for respecting that.

i consider my blog to be my "artistic diary" - so i can recap what i made and which influences i got (exhibitions etc).

currently i try to publish frequently once in a week (mondays/tuesdays mostly)

natur pur

we had wonderful weather last week and i visited a friend who lives near the schliersee, a small lake in the alpine upland.
the Region is quite rural, and you get a lovely first Impression when looking out of the bedroom. her neighbour has two horses in his huge garden.

the weather was warm and we decided to walk around the lake (about 7,5 km)

the chestnuts and the lilac are in full Bloom -
obviously a bit late, as the height of the Region is about 776m above sea Level.

along the way a break at a Café with wonderful cherry cake and Cappuccino

the next day we decided to walk to the ruins of hohenwaldeck, which is about 200m above the lake.
first you walk a way through the Meadows. they are in full Bloom (with a great variety of flowers) and you see farmers busy with mowing.

along the way a view back to schliersee...

blick zurück auf schliersee...

the last part of the route was in the forest and it was nice to have some shadow.

from above you have a nice view to the small Island (with a Restaurant, booked for weddings etc) in the middle of the lake.

well, a Little adventure on our way back... this cattle blocked our way... we didn´t dare to go along the small edge, which led down the hillslope quite dangerously. so we waited until one cow turned and the rest followed... phew!

going through another Meadow with cows, but These were enjoying a nap.

back in schliersee you can see we had not a single cloud in the sky...

~~~~~~
as the temperatures rose with each day and i didn´t want to go to my "view of the month" in full heat, i took a photo i shot two weeks ago:
nachdem die Temperaturen täglich stiegen, wollte ich bei der Hitze nicht mehr zu meinem "12-tel blick" laufen und war froh, schon vor 2 Wochen ein mai-Foto geknipst zu haben:
weitere Teilnehmer an Tabeas Runde hier
and my woven Piece meanwhile got a second triple-circle, this time the Colors alternating to the first one.
ansonsten ist mein webstück ein bisschen gewachsen und hat einen zweiten 3er-kreis bekommen, diesmal beige-blau-beige (der erste war blau-beige-blau).
next week i will be in oslo for a few days, so my next post will come in two weeks.
mein nächster post kommt erst in zwei Wochen... mit vermutlich vielen Fotos aus oslo... bis dann!
  1. What a beautiful place you visited, your photos are breathtaking! The meadows and views are stunning! It looks like you had a lovely time with your friend and the cherry cake looks so yummy. I loved seeing you May photo, isn't it amazing how long the grass is and how the trees have filled out in the backround with the different hues of green! Great stitching too, you must have so much patience to create such intricate work. Happy T Day and have a lovely time in Oslo! J :-)
  2. Gorgeous scenery. And of course stopping at a cafe in the middle of it for pastry makes it even better. I love the cows too. Your circle stitching is so subtle and delicate.
  4. Wow Johanna. What a gorgeous place to visit. Glad you had such sunny weather, and glad those cows moved also. The ground looks pretty steep and you could certainly get hurt straying off the path. The cherry cake looks yummy. I am going to try to make one tomorrow with some cherries I just bought. :) Happy T day. hugs-Erika
  6. Your visit to the high country was incredible. The photos were stunning and showed an area I have never seen before, but would LOVE to visit. You are lucky to have a friend who lives in such a beautiful area. You certainly got your exercise every day. No wonder the cake, which looked a bit like pie to me, and cappuccino were needed to keep your energy up.
    As always, I am in awe of the stitching you create. Your patience and impressive stitch detail make this a note worthy update each week.
    Have lots of fun in Oslo. I hope you take tons and tons of photos, because this is another place I would love to visit.
    I adore the wonderful monthly photos, and this latest one shows how much the leaves have filled out the trees, as well as how green the grass is.
    Thanks for sharing your lovely trip, your continuing sewing, your monthly photo, and your cake and cappuccino with us for T this Tuesday.
  11. Thanks for a really lovely walk with your great clear photographs. I would have been very nervous at meeting the cows on such a narrow path, how lucky that they decided to turn away. The coffee and cake look yummy, just what one needs on a walk (maybe essential?).
    Your textile piece looks good here, fun to see it develop.
    Have a great time in Oslo.
  13. So eine schöne Idylle dort... im Schliersee habe ich sogar schon gebadet!
    Wahnsinn, die Kühe auf dem Waldweg! Auch wenn sie immer so lieb aussehen, ich hätte mich sicherlich auch nicht an ihnen vorbei getraut.
    Dann kann ich euch jetzt nur noch eine richtig schöne Zeit in Oslo wünschen, ganz viel Spaß und möglichst keinen Regen!
    Ach so, zum Blick: ein richtig saftig-grünes Maibild ist es. Was ist eigentlich auf dem Hügel in der Mitte?
    Lieben Gruß - Ulrike
